Digital Word-of-Mouth has become the new currency for companies and brands.

Potential clients, investors, referral partners, journalists, podcast hosts, and event organizers will ask ChatGPT. They'll Google your name. They'll read articles about you. They'll watch interviews. They'll look for evidence that you are the expert and business they can trust.

Real Clients. Real Authority.

We intentionally remain selective. Every client receives senior-level strategy, direct access, and hands-on execution. We move quickly, leverage our meaningful relationships, and focus on outcomes rather than activity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is authority positioning?

Authority positioning is the strategic process of becoming known for your expertise. A lot of people do great work. The problem is that very few people know about it. Authority positioning helps change that.

For example, if you're a founder being interviewed about trends impacting your industry, people begin to view you as a leader in that space. If you're a law firm owner and you're regularly being interviewed about high-profile cases making national headlines, people begin to associate your name with expertise in that area.

Over time, those interviews, media appearances, articles, speaking opportunities, podcasts, and other authority signals start working together. People see your name repeatedly and they become familiar with your perspective. They begin to trust you before they ever pick up the phone, visit your website, or send an email.

There is also a credibility factor. Most people understand that being interviewed by FOX News, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, NewsNation, or major industry publications isn't easy. When respected media outlets repeatedly trust you to explain what's happening in the world, some of that credibility naturally transfers to you.

Authority positioning is about becoming known for what you know, making it easier for potential clients, referral partners, investors, and even AI platforms to understand who you are, what you do, and why people should pay attention.

Who do you work with?

We work with established business owners, founders, executives, and industry experts who want to become more visible, credible, and recognized within their field.

Our clients include law firm owners, startup founders, private and public company CEOs, authors, speakers, financial experts, content creators, medical and wellness experts, and other industry leaders.

The common thread isn't necessarily the industry they're in. It's that they have something valuable to say, they're knowledgeable about their field, and they want to elevate their status from someone who is following conversations to someone who is helping lead them.

Many of our clients are already highly successful before they ever hire us. They've built great businesses, earned impressive credentials, and established themselves within their industry. Our job is to make sure more people know about it.

How do you help clients build authority?

We help clients build authority through a combination of television appearances, online media coverage, thought leadership opportunities, and AI visibility strategies.

Television is a big part of what we do. That includes national, regional, and local media opportunities, and we believe all three matter. A strong media portfolio is built over time, and every interview, article, and appearance becomes another authority signal that helps establish credibility.

We also help clients secure online media coverage, expert commentary opportunities, op-eds, profile segments and stories, and articles that reinforce their expertise. In many cases, those placements provide valuable backlinks and third-party validation that continue working long after the original story is published.

Just as importantly, we focus on helping clients leverage the media coverage they earn. A television segment should not be a one-time win. It should become content for your website, YouTube channel, LinkedIn profile, social media platforms, and other digital assets that continue creating value over time.

Our goal is to help clients build a body of work that positions them as trusted experts within their industry and strengthens their visibility across search engines, AI platforms, and the broader digital landscape.

What makes The Pontes Group different from a traditional PR agency?

The obvious answer is we're really good at securing media coverage. We have spent nearly 14 years building relationships with producers, journalists, editors, and newsrooms across the country, and media relations remains a big part of what we do.

But the bigger difference is that we are not just focused on getting placements. We are focused on helping clients become recognized authorities within their industry.

We don't pitch clients. We pitch stories and segments. We look at a client's expertise, identify the conversations they are uniquely qualified to lead, and then connect that expertise to timely topics, emerging trends, studies, reports, legislation, lawsuits, business developments, cultural conversations, and breaking news.

Over time, those opportunities begin to compound. A prospect sees an interview. A referral partner reads an article. A journalist remembers your name. A producer calls looking for your perspective. Authority is built one conversation at a time.

We also believe what happens after the interview matters just as much as getting the interview itself. Media coverage should not be a one-time win. It should be leveraged across your website, social media platforms, YouTube channel, and other digital assets to continue building visibility, credibility, and AI discoverability long after the original story airs.

The media landscape is constantly changing, and so are we. We are continually tracking what is happening in the news cycle, across industries, within government, and throughout the broader business and cultural landscape so we can help our clients LEAD conversations, not just stand on the sidelines following them.

What is AI visibility?

AI visibility is the process of strengthening your digital reputation so that AI platforms, search engines, prospects, referral partners, journalists, and potential clients can quickly understand who you are, what you do, and why you are credible.

Think about what happens when someone is referred to you. Before they schedule a meeting, pick up the phone, or send an email, they're probably going to do some research. They may search Google. They may ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, or another AI platform about you. They may visit your website, social media profiles, YouTube channel, or read articles where you've been quoted. Every one of those touchpoints helps shape their perception.

When someone consistently sees media coverage, television interviews, expert commentary, thought leadership content, speaking engagements, and other authority signals, they begin building trust before you ever have a conversation.

That's why AI visibility is about much more than appearing in AI search results. It's about creating a consistent and credible digital footprint across the internet.

Your website, media coverage, articles, social media profiles, YouTube channel, and other authority assets should work together to reinforce your expertise and reputation. The stronger those signals become, the easier it is for people to trust you, remember you, recommend you, and increasingly discover you through AI.

Can media coverage help me appear in AI search results?

Absolutely. Media coverage can be one of the strongest authority signals available, but it's important to understand that it works as part of a much larger ecosystem.

Think about how AI platforms evaluate credibility. They are looking at your website, media coverage, articles, social media profiles, YouTube channel, professional background, thought leadership content, and many other signals across the internet. The goal is to create a consistent and credible digital footprint that reinforces who you are and what you are known for.

That said, media coverage remains one of the most powerful pieces of the puzzle. Being interviewed on television, quoted in major publications, featured as an expert source, or contributing thought leadership content creates third-party validation that is difficult to replicate through traditional marketing alone.

The key is making sure you leverage the coverage you earn. A television interview should not end when the segment airs. It should be shared across your website, YouTube channel, LinkedIn profile, social media platforms, and other digital assets so that it continues strengthening your authority and visibility over time.

We view media coverage as one of the most powerful authority-building tools available, but it works best when it is part of a larger strategy designed to strengthen your overall digital reputation and AI visibility.

Do you guarantee media placements?

Because of the nature of earned media, we do not guarantee specific television segments, interviews, articles, or media outlets. For example, we cannot promise that a particular network, publication, producer, or journalist will feature someone, even if we regularly work with that outlet. Ultimately, editorial decisions are made by the media, not by public relations firms.

What we can do is position our clients for success. We identify their areas of expertise, connect them to timely and relevant conversations, develop strong media angles, and present those opportunities to the right producers, journalists, and editors. The reality is that media coverage has to be earned. That's what gives it value.

While we cannot guarantee a specific outlet, we can say that media coverage is a core part of what we do, and our clients are regularly featured on television, quoted in articles, interviewed by journalists, and positioned as expert sources within their industry.

Our job is to give clients the strongest possible opportunity to earn meaningful media coverage and build authority over time. You can view a small selection of client media appearances on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@thepontesgroup

How long does it take to see results?

We believe in hitting the ground running. While every client and industry is different, most clients begin seeing media opportunities relatively quickly because we start identifying opportunities and pitching from the very beginning of the engagement.

That said, media coverage and authority building are not exactly the same thing. A television interview, article, or media mention can happen quickly. Building a reputation as a recognized authority within your industry takes consistency over time.

The clients who see the greatest long-term success are the ones who consistently show up, contribute to important conversations, share their expertise, and continue building their authority over time.

Our goal is to create momentum quickly while also helping clients build assets that continue creating value long after the initial media coverage is secured.

Do I need previous media experience?

No, absolutely not. Most people who come to us do not have previous television or media experience. Part of our job is helping clients build that experience over time.

We help clients build a media portfolio, prepare for interviews, and become more comfortable on camera. That can include guidance on technology, lighting, audio, camera positioning, attire, messaging, talking points, and other best practices that help them show up confidently and professionally.

The good news is that media opportunities are not awarded based solely on previous television experience. They are awarded based on expertise. We focus on identifying the conversations our clients are qualified to lead and positioning them as valuable resources for producers, journalists, and editors.

Whether someone has appeared on television dozens of times or has never done a single interview, our goal is the same: help them build authority, gain experience, and become a trusted voice within their industry.

What is the time commitment?

Most clients are surprised by how little time public relations requires on their end. Our team handles the research, strategy, pitching, media outreach, follow-up, scheduling, and coordination. Most of a client's time is spent reviewing talking points, participating in interviews, and responding to media requests.

Because our clients are often founders, CEOs, law firm owners, and other busy professionals, we've built systems and processes designed to make participation as efficient and seamless as possible while being respectful of their time.

While the exact time commitment varies based on the number and type of opportunities pursued, most media opportunities require significantly less time than people initially expect.

What does the process look like?

While every media opportunity is different, the overall process is designed to be simple and straightforward. Once a media opportunity is confirmed, our team coordinates the scheduling, logistics, and communication with the outlet. You'll receive a calendar invitation containing all of the relevant details, including the interview time, login information, and the segment outline with the hook, talking points, and any important background information you should review beforehand.

Most television interviews today are conducted remotely through Zoom or a similar platform, allowing clients to participate from their office, home, or wherever they happen to be. Some opportunities are pre-recorded, while others are live. For some national opportunities, the network may send a studio van or offer the opportunity to appear in person. However, most interviews today are conducted remotely, allowing clients to participate from the comfort of their home or office. We guide clients through the process and make sure they understand what to expect before each appearance.

For online media opportunities, interviews are often conducted by email, phone, or video call depending on the outlet and the journalist's preferences.

Throughout the process, our team handles the coordination and communication so clients can focus on what they do best: sharing their expertise and contributing to the conversation.

Our goal is to make media opportunities as seamless, efficient, and stress-free as possible.
